Thuya wood box

This beautiful Thuya wood box has been hand carved in Morocco. Thuya wood is an aromatic hardwood that comes from the Thuya tree, which is native to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Thuya wood is known for its stunning grain patterns, making it popular for fine woodworking and decorative projects.

The octagonal shape adds a touch of elegance to this wooden box, which can be used for jewellery, keepsakes, or decorative storage. 

This box features a decorative woodworking technique where designs are carved into the surface of the wood, to create the cutouts; and showcases the artisan's skill and creativity. 

This is a lovely, handcrafted Thuya wood piece, which I selected in Essaouira.
