Silver plated "Walker and Hall" vintage sugar bowl

This is a lovely vintage Sheffield plated sugar bowl, made by silversmiths "Walker and Hall". Featuring two handles and an elegant, ribbed pattern. It would make a delightful addition to any breakfast tray.

Sheffield plate is the name given to the process of putting a layer of sterling silver over a copper base, invented in Sheffield UK by Thomas Boulsover in 1742. Thus, ensuring an item that looked like solid silver, was more affordable to the public.

This sugar bowl would also be useful for serving sauces, jam, or sweets.
