Vintage Australian "Pates" pottery float bowl, decorated with a beautiful brown and yellow drip glaze.
Pates Pottery was established by Alfred James Pate and family in 1946 at Belmore, NSW. The potteries made by Pates targeted the working class market, with their colourful slip cast glaze; and employed over 100 workers in the 1950s.
Circa 1950s. Stamped to base. To be used as a float bowl or Vase, or perhaps to store your every day kitchen condiments.
The quality of this lovely piece is testament to the fact it has stood the test of time.
